Air Bags And Car Crashes

An airbag is a safety device used in automobiles. Previously, people around the world relied on the safety provided by seat belts. Car manufacturers have advanced to the new technology of air bags. Air bags provide drivers and passengers with another safety measure in the event of a crash. The first air bag was installed in 1980. Studies reveal that the risk of dying in an auto crash has been reduced by nearly 30 percent since the inclusion of air bags.

The main purpose of an air bag is to protect passengers in the automobile in case of a crash. These air bags help to keep damage to a minimum. Air bags are gas-inflated cushions that are rapidly discharged from hidden compartments. These compartments are hidden in steering columns, dash boards, roof rails, doors and seats. The air bags hyper-inflate to protect the driver and passengers. There are three parts to the air bag -- the bag, the crash sensors and the inflators. It is made of a thin nylon material. The vehicles may also have side panel air bags or seat air bags installed. The crash sensors send the signal to the air bag, when a serious crash occurs. The inflators ignite a solid propellant that burns quickly. It creates a large volume of gas to inflate the bag. This gas is harmless and the bags inflate instantly.

Air bags help saving human lives, but they do not eliminate the need of seat belts. It is recommended that people use these safety devices while driving. The number of auto accidents is growing on account of non-adherence to the safety measures. It is important to be aware of the safety devices fitted in the vehicle, before making a purchase.

Is Your Handbag Making You Look Fat?

Is your designer handbag making you look fat? Much thought is given to the perfect pair of jeans or finding just the right blouse that will accentuate your figure. But how about your handbag?

Yes, your handbag can make you look fat or short or maybe even both. But the good news is, choosing the right handbag can make you look thin and tall.

It’s all about shape. You need to choose a handbag that is opposite that of your figure. If you were short and round, the perfect bag for you would be tall and sleek, like a clutch. Say you are tall and thin. Then a short and round bag would suit you best.

Now it is important you keep ratios in mind. Just because you are stout doesn’t mean you should carry around a pencil box, this will only add to the appearance that you are much larger then your handbag.

And don’t forget, fabrics and accents add a lot to the structure of a bag. A brightly colored, wildly patterned Monogram Multicolor Louis Vuitton Boulogne attracts a lot of attention. This bag will give the appearance that there is a lot my substance to your accessory then there really is.

Next, you will want to consider size of the bag. Take for example the Monogram Louis Vuitton Boulogne mentioned earlier. The bag itself has a small, classic, square shape to it, but it also has a long 12-inch strap. On a woman who is five and a half feet tall, this bag would be at or below her hip. This is too long for her height and therefore makes her look shorter. Now give the same bag to a 6-foot tall woman, and the bag would sit comfortably just above her hip and accentuate her waistline. The goal is to show off your womanly curves while hiding the womanly flaws we all have and hate.

Some popular designer handbag styles:

Tote - An open-top bag with straps or handles.

Hobo bag - A crescent-shaped shoulder bag.

Duffle - Tall shoulder bag, often with a wider opening on top.

Field bag - A flap-top shoulder bag with utility-type closure (buckles, snaps, etc).

Clutch - A small, handheld bag (frequently used for evening wear).

Satchel- A large, handheld bag.

Baguette - Long and rounded shoulder bag resembling the namesake bread.

Messenger - A large, soft shoulder bag with long straps (often worn across the body).

Cigar Box - A small, boxy, hard bag.

Pouch - A soft, small bag.

Oh, and a message to all of you who think you are avoiding bad handbag choices and have chosen a backpack style handbag. Watch out how big the backpack is and where it rests on your back. You could be adding junk to your ‘trunk’, or accentuating your ‘assets’.

Front or back, choosing the right bag is as important as choosing the right pair of jeans or the perfect sweater.

Choosing the Perfect Tennis Bag

When choosing a tennis bag you’ll need to consider how much room you will need. Do you need to bring 2 rackets or 6? Size of the bag does matter. Choosing one too small will mean you’ll have to bring 2 bags, but purchasing one that is too large will be cumbersome to take with you. Consider the number of rackets you will need to carry, as well as strings and extra grips. You’ll also want to make sure you have ample room for the extra things you need too like sun screen, tennis balls, change of clothes including an extra pair of shoes. Look for a tennis bag that has comfortable handles and carry straps. Some of the tennis bags are meant to be carried as a backpack so determine ahead of time if that is a feature you desire.

When purchasing one of the popular top brand names like Wilson, Prince Pro, or Head make sure you put your name on the bag or visibly customize it in some way which makes it easily identifiable. This can help to end the confusion at the court when multiple identical bags are present. Also put some type of permanent identification inside the bag so it can be returned to you if it is lost.

So what are the top bags and price ranges? The Wilson tennis bags are definitely at the top of the list. Wilson has the patent-pending Thermoguard technology which keeps the racket cool. Price range is $50 to $60. In addition to the Thermoguard 6 pack, Wilson also has the Wilson Tour Super 6 tennis bag. This tennis bag also has the Thermoguard protection, can be worn as a backpack, and has 3 compartments which can carry 4 rackets each.

No matter your budget, you are sure to find a great tennis bag to suit your needs. Shop around and check out several brands before making your final decision.

You Don't Carry That Styrofoam Container With You While Fishing, Do You?

For many years I would buy live worms at the store, then stuff the worm container into my fishing vest or tackle box and go fishing. This was fine I suppose, but it was a pain in the butt. I never knew exactly where my worms were, and would have to spend time looking for them, rather than fishing. The container would invariably end up getting smashed as well, and whatever worms that didn't get used, would be wasted.

Then one day I went fishing with a friend of mine who's father, who incidentally became my fishing mentor, introduced me to an incredible idea. That idea was a bait bag. It was a little bag that hung off of his fishing vest and held his live worms. So he would buy his worms as all of us do, then when he got to his fishing area, he would pull the worms out of the container they were purchased in, and put them into his bait bag. This way his worms were literally, at his fingertips, ready to be used. I was intrigued art this solution to carrying worms while fishing.

As I observed him fishing, I noticed that with the help of the bait bag, he wasted no time baiting up. The bait bag was a great idea. In a two hour fishing trip he easily got an extra 30 minutes of fishing, just because of the time the bait bag saved him by holding his worms. I soon followed his directions and made my own bait bag. The other cool thing about a bait bag is the fact that when your done fishing, whatever left over worms you have can simply be returned to the original container and put in the fridge for the next fishing trip.

The bottom line is that if you fish with live worms, you need to get yourself a bait bag for carrying them. You can purchase one or make one yourself, the point is that you need to use one. Becoming a more efficient angler by using a bait bag will actually give you more time with your line in the water. Rather than spending time looking for your bait, it will always be right there at your fingertips.

Choosing the Right Sleeping Bag Can Make or Break Your Camping Trip

If you’ve begun searching for a sleeping bag on the Internet, then you already know how overwhelming it can be with all these online camping stores. The good thing is whether you’re buying a double sleeping bag for 2 people or searching for your kid’s favorite sleeping bag, odds are you’ll find it online at cheap discount prices.

There are many features and options people should look for in sleeping bags depending on your needs, such as what is the min/max temperature climate, is the bag material durable on the outside but comfortable on the inside, is it waterproof or water resistant, does it fit to your body shape and size? Sleeping bag insulation is also an important detail to look into, for example, are you looking for a cozy down filling with soft lining or is budget a factor making a synthetic blend a better choice.

You will also find a huge selection of styles to choose from like mummy, inflatable, rectangular, backpacking, semi-rectangular, youth and baby sleeping bags. Choose between the many different colors like blue, pink, yellow, orange, red, green, polka dot and brown. For your children, why not buy a fleece bag with cartoon characters on it like Spiderman, Disney, Bob the builder, NASCAR and Scooby Doo.

For sleeping bags or other camping gear, check out popular name brands like Coleman, North Face, Slumberjack, Marmot, Lafuma, Columbia, Wenger, Kelty, Wenzel and Nebo. If you still want to cut down your options, I would read online consumer reviews and compare sleeping bag ratings on all sorts of bags for camping, as it will make things much clearer.
